What is the Rhine River anyway and where is it?

Hi sassy007!

The Rhine River is one of the most IMPORTANT rivers in Europe. It begins in the Rheinwaldhorn Glacier of Switzerland and flows north and east approximately 820 miles!!!! It passes through Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

It’s a really important river because it is used largely for cargo shipment. There are many German manufacturing and industrial cities located along the Rhine, and the river is important for shipping and transportation.

There are also many castles along the river, providing for a lot of pretty scenery and a tourist attraction.

Hope that helps!
