What do I do about friends' dog is dying?
My friends’ dog is dying and she is very upset. What do I do?I told her I was sorry but I don’t know what to do now?
Phrannie is 100% correct. Be there for her and DO NOT buy another dog for her.
Just be there for her…DO NOT buy another dog for her…everybody grieves in their own way for their own length of time…She’s the best judge for when a new dog is in order.

Just be there for her and tell her she can talk to you about it if she wants. Make yourself available for phone calls and so on whenever she needs you and maybe just arrange something nice, like a day out, to take her mind off things.
When her dog passes then offer to help her arrange a little funeral service if they are burying it. Maybe find a nice poem to read out and go and pick/ buy some flowers to put on the grave. Get some stones and spell out the dogs name on the grave.
Sitting down together and making an album or pictures of the dog may also be a nice thing to help her remember it. Maybe suggest she cuts a lock of the dog’s hair to stick in the front too so she always has a piece of her that she can carry with her?
