Is it true that dogs go away from home or go outside to die?

My dog won’t come in the house and he’s been out for a couple of days and he’s quite old, Is it true that dogs will go away to die?

Answer #1

Often, they will, but more often, a dog will want to be close to the people it loves when it’s time to die.

Answer #2

It depends on how close the dog is to the family. Sometimes dog’s prefer to die peacfully and in a quiet place nearish to home.

Answer #3

Not always. Some dogs do, but some dogs stay home around it’d family to die. I guess it just depends on the dog.

Answer #4

I know it is comman for labradours (sorry about the spelling) to be away from people. But with other dogs such as German Sheapards its uncomman they would prefer to be close to their owners. Once again it does depend on the breed of the dog
