Has anyone here ever water fasted?
I've been doing losts of research lately on fasting and tried some short versions 3 to 6 days of fast.
I've read about the man who fasted for 365 days, the jail-mates who went on hunger strikes and all the religious variations of fasting and after all my research ad person inability to deal with my current weight I've decided a 90 day fast might be my best options. But I'm looking for a second opinion.
I'm 19 years old and in the last 2 years I gained 50 pounds, right now im 5'5 210 pounds
I have such problems with food that its got to be an all or nothing type situation, I used to be able to do the slow, steady and healthy weight loss but since gaining all the weight back as fast as I could and stuffing my face and pushing my stomach to the limit, my body can't comprehend normal sizes anymore I think.
So my wish is to water fast for 90 days in hopes to lose 60 pounds.
I know its unhealthy, I know the risks, but i've become deperate and will do something no mater what, I've even looked and had a consultation for liposuction of thigh and belly. but know that liposuction is for great amounts of weight loss rather for the last 10 pounds type deal.
Any second options?
I'm 19 years old, 5'7" and 210 pounds wanting to do a 90 day water fast. What do you think? How much weight do you think I would probably lose?
p.s. Yes I plan to exercise during the fast as well.
Yes, I have water fasted for 28 days (just water) three times.
Each time I came out I lost quite a lot of weight. But the big gains were my vitals. I did blood tests before and after the second fast. My doctor said he has never see such results.
Basically everything was at or below minimum ranges (cholesterol, blood pressure etc).
I got rid of my "liver spots" permanently as well as a lot ofother things.
As others say, research 100% before you jump it. The fast can be dangerous to those who are fad dieters since you can lose a lot of strength.
But as far as things you can do to restore your health, nothing beats it. Not juice fast. Not exercise, not "eating healthy".
The body sure needs a rest to recover and a water fast is the ideal way to do it.
***** IMPORTANT *****
DO NOT do strenuous exercise during the fast. Simple stretches and walking is all you should do.
DO NOT fast for 90 days. Thats extreme. 30-50 days is tops.
DO NOT drink anything else but water during the fast.
Ketosis will kick in by day 3. But the first 3 days will be brutal. Most people fail the fast during this time.
DO NOT tell anyone and everyone about your fast. Most people will say off the bat its dangerous -- but they would not have done any research on the process.
******** BENEFITS OF THE FAST *******
CLARITY of mind is awesome!
YOU WILL BE BORED. Its amazing how much time we spend preparing, eating and digesting food. You will get back around 3 or more productive hours out of the day because of this.

******* SUMMARY *********
Whatever you do, don't let people who never read or researched about fasting talk you out of it. Do you research (extensively) and then do it.
Well whatever fast you do, please make sure you take vitamins and get plenty of liquid in you... I think going completely without any calories at all for so long isn't a great idea, especially being your age. The Daniel fast that treeseeds mentioned might be a better idea. It's just a really clean diet. A lot healthier than the 90 day water fast idea. And you have better chances of keeping the weight off doing the Daniel fast than doing the water fast.
You should do a juice fast instead. Watch or look up "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". It's an amazing documentary about the great health benefits and weight loss that can come from just juicing fruits and veggies.
Try the Daniel Fast. You can look it up online. Only water, fruits and vegetables is allowed in the fast.
