Why is my boyfriend always tired?

My boyfriend gets about 8-9 hours of sleep every night, however he’s still always tired & exhasted during the day. He doesn’t sleep during the day on his days off, so he’s not oversleeping/undersleeping at all. He’s had blood tests done, and every time the doctors have told him that there’s nothing wrong & that he’s really healthy. Does anyone else have this same problem? We’re unsure what step to take next, as apparently there’s nothing wrong. But there’s got to be if he’s always tired, right? It’s making his working & social life a problem, as he’s always tired. Any one with ideas let me know. Thank you.

Same thing happened to my friend he was just pressured , needed excersice, a different diet, or he is just growing

This has been bothering me as well except that my boyfriend sleep like 11-12 hours a day. And the worst part is he goes to bed at midnight. It isn’t like he is going to bed at 2:00am. He is also very healthy and active. It is incredibly frustrating and I have no idea why he doesn’t have more drive to get up and get his day started. I wouldn’t worry too much about 8-9 hours. Most people need 8 hours to function. Some a little less and some a “little” more. But I am getting really pissed off at the 12 hour routine.

ok well my boyfriend sleeps ALL day!!! and it makes me mad cause im always up and I cant do anything until he is up. what do you guys think I do about that?

Answer #4

my boyfriend is only awake for 8-10 hrs out of 36 hrs (or 1 and a half days).. we’re in a long distance relationship. and his sleeping habit is definitely rousing my curiosity. is he really sleeping? or is he sleeping with another woman? sometimes, boys make excuses. and sleeping is probably the best excuse they could come up with. oh well, now you need to investigate more.

My friend had problems with that. Turns out, she had low iron. You may check that out. Also, the food he eats.

Does he eat a lot of junk food? Usually after one’s “sugar high” they get really tired. So maybe he needs to eat healthier. Also, does he feel wide awake at night when hes going to go to sleep, or is he tired? Some people with Insomnia get really tired, but are inable to sleep. I dont know if doctors can detect that or not but, maybe you could check into that..

Answer #6

Is he depressed??? is he eating healthily??? Exercise may help. Is his job boring. Maybe he needs some brain stimulation.

8 hours is a good amount of time to sleep at night but maybe its too much for him. Has he tried sleeping for just 7 hours. (put an alarm on) Keep a diary and see if there is anything that stands out. Maybe something in his diet affects him.

Another thing is ME also known as chronic fatigue syndrome. My son had it for 4 years. But tiredness is only one of the symptoms of ME so maybe this doesn’t apply to him. If things don’t get better ask his doctor to refer him to a specialist.

Good Luck
