Answer #6

‘We’ve got to pass the bill so we can tell what’s IN it’

Answer #7

One needs to be dumb and have the talent to not answer any questions that are thrown to them, these are qualities that makes a good politicians. Also, the abilities to attract idiotic and stupid members who are also dumb and who think a potential candidate/s who is uneducated and unworldly can govern a country. An example why most Australians think Americans are stupid, is having Sarah Palin as a president candidate. The woman is very attractive but she is dumb as bat sh-t, then again, most Americans elected George Bush Junior to govern US twice.!!!

Answer #8

I’m from the US and I can’t even come up with an argument to your statement…..:) Ouch truth really does hurt…LOL

Answer #9

Slapping stupid crap onto bills in an effort to bury what’s really on the agenda is the American Way….And the reason we’re in the shape we’re in. Case in point…

The provision to allow members of Congress to look at the financial information of the public was contained IN ONE SENTENCE IN A 2,000 PAGE BUDGET BILL CONGRESS VOTED ON. Only after the bill was passed did a Senator notice the provision which some websites deemed “bad.”

In a similar manner, another massive budget passed a couple of years before the one that allowed Congress to inspect your financial records a small, unnoticed provision changed the requirement that background checks of gun buyers be destroyed within 24 hours, instead of 90 days.

Answer #10

Politics does not reward intelligence. A woman commented to Adlai Stevenson that every intelligent American is voting for him. To this he replied “Perhaps, ma’am–but unfortunately I require a majority.” Funny thing about Stevenson, every political science teacher I had in public school and college said they were inspired to study politics because of their admiration of Adlai Stevenson. While Stevenson was admired by the cognitive elite this appeal didn’t translate to the masses. Eisenhower who was a war hero not noted for his intelligence was able to paint Stevenson as an egghead intellectual and beat him in a landslide. Jimmie Carter was also extremely intelligent and this was a big part of why he was perceived as an ineffective president. There is a deep distrust of intellectuals among Americans. We fear that intellectuals have their own agenda that differs from our own. We don’t trust politicians who think too much.

Answer #11

The problem is that the politicians are NOT stupid. They PLAY stupid.

That evil old man in the article you linked is part of the “hoax ALL the citizens” theater group. His role is to be the distracting antagonist. While he dungs the media with that sort of cr*p, all the othery can polish their own image and be the “lesser evil”.

And while we shake our heads at their politician-stupidity, they underhandedly make their own companies rich on tax money.

Those hypocrites are pretty much the same all over the world.

Answer #12

That actually makes a lot of sense O.o
