Heres more of a question has any poloticion inspired you to do something? Next question whats your opinion of why presidents are not as inspirational anymore?
There are many:
I would say one of the most inspiring thing a politician has done was George Washington refusing to become a monarch when it was offered. It was quite a noble thing to do, to step down from power willingly. Not something that had been seen before. When King George III asked someone what Washington was going to do after winning independence, he was told "They say he will return to his farm". An incredulous George III said “If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world.”
I would say Al Gore has personaly inspired me in many ways, from his stance on global warming, and his eloquence in talking about the abuses of power that have come from the bush adminstration. His book The Assult On Reason was absolutely fantastic.
Our next president will be extremely inspirational. He already is as a candidate. It will be a refreshing change over the dolt we have had for the past 8 years.
"Ich bin ein Berliner"
This statement by JFK will never be forgotten by Germans, especially those who were alive at the time he said it. As someone who was born in the DDR and whose family gained political asylum in the US, this was the most inspirational thing a US president has ever done. There are other, greater accomplishments by many other presidents, but for me personally, this is very inspiring.
although usually an interesting subject at first look, most polititians insire me not to persue a career in polotics
I'd be hard pressed to find an "inspiration" from any politician...now or in the past...
Applauding for rickd...
Like I've said, we will make a democrat out of him yet...
