Study tips?

I’m trying to study for a vocab test for tomorrow. The definitions won’t stick to me! Any tips on how I can study to memorize them? Thanks!<3

I used to picture scenarios related to the word and its definition that were completely ridiculous, and it helped a lot.

ex: pug·na·cious /pʌgˈneɪʃəs/ [puhg-ney-shuhs] –adjective inclined to quarrel or fight readily; quarrelsome; belligerent; combative.

I would picture a Pug dog walking into a bar for dogs trying to pick a fight with every other dog for no reason. the more random I could picture it, the easier it was to remember.

you have school 2mrrw?…but isn’t it good friday? - a holiday?…lol anyways try writing out the definitions, while saying them to yourself!! that tip is certifided by my english teacher and it works =)
