I have been working out semi hard ( crunches, running 3 miles a day ) , free weights, etc. No cokes and eats small meal portions. No junk food. I went from weighing 235 to 210. For 3 weeks I have weighed the same. I do exercises 6 days a week. My goal is to get back to 170 lbs. HELP !!! What am I doing wrong.
This happens often in weight loss. It is called a plateu. It means your weight has flattened out even though you are doing the same thing. As the person ahead of me said, you need to switch up your routine. When your body becomes accustomed to certain exercises, it will start to burn less calories doing those exercises. Try doing walk-jog-run (walk 3 minutes, jog 2 minutes, run as fast as you can for 1 minute, repeat), or try altering your running route to one that has some hills. Try jump roping (excellent cardio). Or if you go to a gym, switch the machines you use. Use the elliptical one day, the tread mill the next, the bike the next, and the stair stepper the next. Vary your routine and KEEP GOING! You WILL Keep losing weight.
You may need to up your excersize schedule because your body has now adapted to it you have to slowly make it harder as your muscles develop run faster/farther do more crunches maybe add in something else. You have to keep pushing yourself or your body simply adapts so you wont continue to loose weight.
