How long is it safe for kidney stone to be stuck in bladder?

I have had lots of pain with kidney stones I have lots. Over 3 months ago I had to go to hospital with the pain they said I have a 6mm kidney stone stuck in my bladder and it should go within a few weeks, well 3 months on and still there. I am not in pain just get tired but is it safe for it to be stuck there for so long, can it do any harm? Thanks julie

There’s really no time frame for when a kidney stone should pass, but generally, kidney stones larger than 5mm are removed with medical intervention.

It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to go back to the doctor.
