Is sleeping too long bad for you?

Home More advice Health

This probably a stupid question, but.. I'm sick, and I went to bed at like 1:00 AM the previous night, when I WASN'T sick. But then, I woke up at like 5:00 AM and I was shaking so violently it was hard to move, and I felt cold even though I was really hot. My Mom (don't laugh, I'm 15) comforted me and calmed me down, and I went to bed and slept probably, two hours? Anyways, I got up, and stayed up until like 2:00 in the afternoon, and then I slept until around 9:00 PM at night. I don't feel all that great, and I want to know if it's dangerous to sleep too long? I also thought I had a popcorn hull stuck in my throat, but I think it was just mucus. I couldn't laugh or cough without choking, and now it's doing it again. :( Also, where I live, like alot of the U.S., it's covered in ice, which I don't know if that's important right now but it surely doesn't help! >:( EDIT: Is it also a bad idea to take a hot shower now?
