Checklist: 1. are you drinking enough water? (you need half your weight in oz. of water per day) 2. Are you eating a low fat diet? (low fat diets can cause constipation) 3. Are you eating too much protein? (causes dehydration) 4. How is your intestinal flora? (have u been taking antibiotics lately? taking antibiotics can cause all kinds of problems especially constipation) 5. Are you getting enough fiber? (not fiber from grains but the good fiber from fruits and vegetables?) 6. Are you exercising?
Prunes are high in insoluble fiber, and because it's incredibly absorbent, insoluble fiber soaks up large amounts of water, making it easier to go. However you don't want to over do it, too much fiber and you'll be going all the time :)
