In you opinion, what do you think of those who are starving themselves to loose weight?

what advice would u give them?

Answer #1

Honestly, I think they are just plain ignorant. They don’t even stop to think that what they are doing can severely effect their lives, what is the point in starving yourself to lose weight? You are not going to be around much longer to show off your new body if you starve to death!

Answer #2

I feel for them. Its a disease and not something to be taken lightly seeing as how it costs alot of young people their lives. No one has the right to judge them, they are in fact sick and need medical treatment. You wouldnt pick on a cancer patient who is dying…so why would you pick on a girl with anorexia who is dying slowly. Advice i would give…seek medical and emotional help. No one here is trained professionals in this field and anorexia is a very complex disease.

Answer #3

That is just my opinion. I am not trying to offend anyone. I guess sometimes it depends on the situation…

Answer #4

I wouldn’t say that I pity them, nor do I not care about them. I feel that it is the same as any other form of self harm. Really all I can say or do, is tell them to get professional help. I mean, at first glance I think, ‘wow, that person is really skinny!’ But other then that, I don’t think anything of them.

Answer #5

its their way of being too lazy, and are trying to take the easy way out of losing weight. they do not realize what they do to their bodies when its starved. if they werent lazy they start to exercise, eat better foods, actually take the proactive approach to losing weight.

Answer #6

It’s one o in lose. And that’s a very broad question. You’ve got dieters who starve themselves. And then you’ve got people with anorexia. Dieters tend to go to extreme lengths sometimes, and it isnt healthy, but they dont all fall into the domain of anorexia. As for people with anorexia, they’ve got a disorder. It isnt about the food. There’s much more going on there. And they really dont care that they will die, they would rather die than gain weight. So waving your hands in their face telling them that they could die is pointless. They know what the disorder will do to them a lot better than most people. I dont have an opinion on people who suffer with anorexia, it’s a mental disorder like any other disorder. It’s not something I would want to work with because it really needs a team of people working together, and I prefer to not work in teams. As for advice, well professional help with an expert in eating disorders

Answer #12

honestly… i’d have to say that i was one of them… i wasn’t far to the extent where i indulged in the thought however but i was upset with my outter image… if i didn’t starve myself, i’d puke out what i ate. it’s when i didn’t quite see the results as i expected when i stopped a found that exercising daily and eating well is the key to feeling good about myself. and honestly… why starve yourself when you’re weathly enough to have food on the table rather than those in ruial places

Answer #13

it is neither a disease or a physical disorder…..it is a choice that drives them to do what they do………………….its life

Answer #14

im goinq to be honest ive done it to myself and i almost became bulimic ; but yu can loose wait but if u eat u will end up wantinq to throw up and believe from that step is anorexia

Answer #15

Just remind them, that in the future, that method will probably back fire. When your body doesn’t get enough food, it learns to store every little bit of food you do get, so in the future, when your getting plenty of food, your body might just want to store all of it, depending on how quickly it can change.
