what is your opinion on the seatbelt laws in most states?
is it a good thing to enforce? or an invasion of privacy
well, i’m a bit of a hypocrit, cus i think you should wear them, but i don’t always do it. i meen they save lives. i was in a car crash and didn’t have one on. and i hit my head pretty hard. and i was stupid. its a really good thing to enforce. i back it up alot. plus, if you teech your kids to do it at an early age, that will get them into the habit to do it all the time.
We have a seatbelt law here in Ontario and I think it’s the best thing they ever did.
I think it’s quite sad that the government actually has to step in and treat us like children to get the point across, but when we refuse to take our safety into our own hands, then someone else has to see it done.
Not using a seatbelt is foolish.
While i agree that everyone should wear their sseatbelts, i think its wrong for the government to force adults to wear them. I also dont agree with the helmet laws for motorcycles. The only person who it harms if you get into a wreck is yourself so i dont think that they should be able to force you into wearing them.
While I am not crazy about tons of government laws…I fully support this one. Yes, while it is true that you are only hurting yourself if you don’t wear seat belts or helmets…if in a wreck and you survive, the cost of treating you can run up huge hospital bills…insurance has to foot that, and out rates go up…if you don’t have insurance…the taxpayers have to foot the bill.
Some laws have to be because we are steadily living in a nation of idiots….
