what things do i need to know about when i open my first banking account?

Answer #1

Well first of all, you need to bring your social security card. And money of course. But any other information will be given to you in the process of opening an account.

Answer #2

If you choose to activate a debit card, make sure you write those purchases into your checking ledger or your balance will be really screwed up. I learned that the hard way and I still forget to! Ask if there are any minimum balance requirements or charges to your account for any reason, such as EFT payments, and decide what type of account(s) you want. The bank should explain everything and answer any question you have. Take a parent or older relative with you if you think that would help.

Answer #3

ID,SS card, and usually 100 bucks :)
