How to insert a tampon?

I know this is a kinda wierd question but how do you insert a tampon because I have tried many times and it hurts. I dont understand why?

Answer #1

everything she said^^

but also, plastic applicators are so much better, the cardboard ones bend and hurt.

and to the first answer, yes it is possible to get tss, an infection in your vagina, but that is VERY unlikely. makes sure you dont leave the tampon in longer than 8 hours. but dont be paranoid about it, because I have a friend who left hers in for 14 hours.

Answer #2

I used a tampon one day when my friend asked me to go swimming at her house. I had trouble the first time, its easy to get it in but hard to get out. man, it hurts a lot when you have to pull it out.

Answer #3

I dont think you should use tampons. They can cause infections. So I think it would be a good Idea for you to use pads.

Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder. The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort. Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps. Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed. Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube. Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body. Use your other hand to open your vagina. Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina. Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube. With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely. Gently pull the two tubes out together. Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer’s instructions. When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet. Tips: Lubricating the rounded end of the tampon with a water-based lubricant such as K-Y Jelly can make insertion easier the first few times. Don’t use petroleum jelly. Always read the manufactuer’s instructions throughly before using any type of tampon. If the tampon feels uncomfortable it is probably not inserted far enough into your vagina. Try again with a new tampon. What You Need: Tampons water-based lubricant I FOUND THIS I HOPE IT HELPS XX

all of the above (lol not very helpful)

but if you find it hard how I got my first one in was I had a feel of well.. down below =] I found the right hole and got it in. My advice is to follow these steps I came up with =] : 1-have a look, use a handmirror or sit by a mirror and have a proper look 2-using a CLEAN finger whilst looking feel your feminine bits and find the hole, this sounds wierd but if you find it and have a good old feel of it, you have a good sense where to put the tampon 3-after feeling and looking relax and release all tension and thoughts take deep breaths 4-with one foot up feel down and find the hole widen the vjj lips and with a slight pressure-only slightly- push in the applicator and push in the tampon slowly remove it and dispose of it properly etc etc - there if its your first time follow them↑ EASY PEASY =] only string should be seen btw if you c more try again for pulling it out gently pull the string and using your finger guide it out =] oh and btw TENSION HURTS AND MAKES IT HARDER RELAXX IT WILL BE SOOO MUCH EASIER =] hope this helped my fellow menstruating females xxx Yazza xxx ※※♪

ok well…the first time I used a tampon I was so scared..I had to try like 5 times to make it seem like I did it rightt here’s what you do. get a tampon. [obviously] go in the bathroom & sit on the toilet. open ‘it’ up and when you see a ‘little hole’ push it gently up there and relax all your muscules. take off the plastic thing [if thats on their] if it feels uncomfortable and you can feel it while your jumping or something. take it out and try again…you probably just had it slanted.. =] hope I helped!
