How do I limit the cramps I get when I go jogging or exercise?

I recently started jogging and I get cramps pretty fast. Will they go away as my body gets more used to the oversize? Also what are ways to get rid of them when I am exercising.

Answer #1

Do stretches beforehand

Answer #2

Like the cramps I get are muscle cramps. Just from running or over-exercising my body. However, if you don’t exercise a lot you’ll probably get cramps. Your body just has to get used to the physical exercise. You just need to make sure you stretch before you exercise(it’s called a warm up) and like jog in place for a few minutes and do that sort of thing and also make sure you do a cool down(this just helps bring your heart rate down) You could do things like stretch our your arms and legs etc. And drink plenty of water.

Answer #10

You need to make sure you breathe well during exercise. A lack of oxygen from breathing to shallow, causes you body to make lactic acid , which makes muscles hurt and eventually may spasm, which is a cramp. taking magnesium in a tablet or powder, may reduce the cramps, aswell as having enough salt in your diet. I always like gatorade for exercise as it seems to help as it has a little sodium (salt)and potassium aswell. eventually with more exercise it should improve.

Answer #11

Stay hydrated! It will make a big differance!
