How do I make sure my laundry doesn't smell when I left it in the wash too long after washing?

I didn’t realize the load of wash had sat in the washing machine for a few hours…and it smells a bit. It’s in the dryer now, but I really don’t want to re-wash it. Any ideas how to make sure the clothes don’t smell bad?

Answer #1

rewash it

Answer #2

Answer #3

Thanks…that’s what my wife just said on the phone, too :( I didn’t want to waste water though.

Answer #4

how about you do a light wash, set it to the lowest settings so it won’t use as much water, and it will get the smell out. :)

Answer #6

I’ve been there! lol! So I thought well, maybe I put extra drier sheets and set the drier on high. Well, it got the smell out only until it gets wet. If it rains on you or you get sweaty or your towels get wet, then the smell will come back.

Answer #7

That’s exactly what’s been happening for a bit with my shirts, grrr….thanks for explaining :)

Answer #8

Expediency is the answer…ya got to get it out and into the dryer before mildews…:)
