I'm so jealous of former coworkers!

I verbally abused a Wal-Mart coworker who pissed me off and punched the pole at the fitting room in front of customers. Both these people reported me. I got canned for gross misconduct even though I’m producutive in my dept. (ladies wear.) In addition, I help out in other depts when I’m not called up to people greet.

Now I’m jealous. How come other associates could stay there for years on end but I only lasted 4.5 months? How come a few other associates have Associate Recognition Awards hanging on the breakroom wall but I don’t? I actually have friends among these assoicates and now I’m jealous of my friends. Most of all, how come most of these people don’t get sacked but I did?

lifelong anger problems made me do what I did. the mgrs who canned me also humiliated me saying I lack people skills to be working. no one else had to go through the humiliation I went through. it isn’t fair!

problem is, I really LOVED my job. That’s why I’m jealous. And no, my coworkers only pissed me off twice the entire time I worked there. I miss my badge and discount card. They were my pride. It’s very degrading to lose them.

Answer #1

Tough.

You acted in an inappropriate manner and you suffered the consequence…

Welcome to the real world.

Answer #2

well I think I deserve a second chance bc I didn’t have a problem before. I don’t care what terms they wanna attach to it (I.e. harassment, workplace violence, gross misconduct, etc.) Besides, my coworker is the one who triggered me. She should own up some.

Answer #3

She may have provoked you, but you control your own actions and you reacted wrong.

You don’t deserve a second chance at all, and if you were to take this to a labour board, they would laugh you off the table.

If you want to work like adults do, better grow up and start acting like one.

Answer #4

Losing your temper, and hitting something on the job would get you fired at pretty much any place, except maybe if you worked for the Federal or State government (they’d probably make you take anger management)…

Don’t waste your time or energy being jealous because you lost a lot more than just your temper…LEARN FROM IT. Accept responsibility for your own actions, understand and accept that YOU got YOU fired…forget about what’s “fair”…and move on.

…and…treat yourself as you would others…It’s harder to forgive ourselves than it is to forgive others…so FORGIVE yourself…you screwed up…everybody is allowed mistakes if they learn from them…

Answer #5

yes, it is fair, and it was fair you got pissed off and punched a pole if customers see a person doing this…who is serving them there going to get scared, they wont want to go near you or near the store again and the store will loose customers if you were at a shop, say a worker get really mad and punched a pole, how would that make you feel? would you want to go up to them and ask for something or let them serve you probably not? what you did made you get fired this is also why you dont have awards awards come with patience and hard work you probably wont get an award if you work there for a short time you need to be there for a long time and be a reliable and good worker
