Do not eat spagetti on your first day. I did that and it was horrible. You can’t eat things like corn on the cob, apples, anything like those can bend your wires and break your brackets. You can chew gum..but go for the sugarless. I have braces and I chew gum. Good luck! If you need anything else - funmail me!

after you get them on.. they will give you a list of foods that you cannot eat.. and don’t drink dark drinks like coke pepsi or tea because it will stain you teeth. good luck.. they will hurt the first few days..

Your orthodontist should advise you on that. However, you basically just try and stay away from food items (chewing gum, etc) that will stick grossly to your braces.

Also, if you don’t currently use a “water pick”, I would strongly suggest that you check them out.

I have braces!

You can eat gum and candies buut like not caramel or chewy candies. And when you’re eating something like an apple…it has to be in pieces so its easier to bite=)
