My hymen? Did I ever have one? How do I tell?

Um, so, I never remember losing my hymen… I mean, I have stuck stuff ‘up there’ but, ya… I don’t have anything there. Was I born without one?

Answer #1

You could’ve been born without or you could’ve broken yours doing day-to-day activities like playing sports, riding a bike, horseback riding, etc. Anyways, the hymen is unimportant to virginity (if that’s what this question was about) or anything else and as long as you have sex, you are no longer a virgin. Hymen or not.

Answer #2

You don’t “lose” your hymen. But it does get “broken” and then it bleeds, usually after intercourse. But it can break doing certain activities like Bathory said. I think you should google a picture of one because it’s not really noticeable.

Answer #3

Yep, what they both said. You may never had one. You may have broken it and not realized it…although that seems weird to miss, but honestly, I’m kind of in your situation…I don’t ever recall it breaking. I’ve never bleed how it’s described and how female friends have claimed it happens/happened to them, and I’ve had sex and stuff so yeah. It seems kind of weird to have had it happen and not realized it but I’m sure it could happen. Heck, it can even break…I think…from tampons. And just because stuff has gone up there that doesn’t mean it’s broken already. You can have sex and not have it break. But as Bathory, the hymen isn’t what makes you or doesn’t make you a virgin. When you have sex for the first time, then you lose your virginity and are no longer a virgin.
