How to make my Dad appreciate me?
Okay well I’m 15 and when I was little my dad and I had the best relationship like he was my best friend. Now that I am older and a girl he thinks that I should do everything around the house. If my mom isnt home I have to make dinner for him. I was made to clean the house by him so many times. Everything has even gone more down hill when I got a boyfriend we have been going out for over a year and my dad still does not let me see him that much and doesn’t trust me. He has a drinking problem too (my dad) so when he drinks he yells at me for everything possible and he has hit me in the past. He has the most stubborn personality too, so if I ask him a question his way is the only way he makes me feel down on myself everyday. Even that I am getting straight As in school and working and taking dance classes. My question is how can I have him appreciate me more?
I agree - he needs to know how you really feel inside - I would write a letter carefully and proof-read it several times to ensure you cover all bases and is exactly what you want to say - be respectful - communicate…I wish you the best !!
yes communication is good but I have the same problem wit my dad and make sure to use no attitude when you talk to him or he’ll flip out - sorry I cant be of more use
Talk to him . Communicate let him know how you feel
