How do you reduce the swelling in your ankles?

I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and my ankles and feet really hurt and are badly swollen. I’ve gotten my fiancé to give me a foot rub but it doesn’t work. I know it’s a symptom that you can’t avoid but what are some strategies to get the swelling and pain to reduce.

Answer #2

I am also pregnant, this will be my third time and have a different kind of pain everyday. :( According to babycenter.com, you should put your feet up whenever you can. Drink plenty of water. Take a short walk, this will help your blood circulation. They also suggest swimming or water aerobics. And of course, eat healthy. Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy.
