Well like 8 mins ago I burn 2 of my fingers. While taking a hot pot off the stove.the water inside of it spilled out a little onto my fingers. I shook the water off real quick and turn on some cold water to help reduce the pain some. It still hurt a little. Don't look like no swelling had happen. What to do to know if the burn is bad? (that water was really hot I think)
Affected layers of skin determines - First degree: only the first, outermost layer of skin is harmed - Second degree: trauma to both the epidermis and the dermis, which is the second layer of skin - Third degree: involves all of the first and second layers of skin as well blood vessels, nerve endings, follicles and sweat glands, as well as bone and muscle if the burn is severe enough. Those who suffer from full thickness burns will feel no pain since nerves are destroyed.
You did the right thing with the cold water.
You most likely only got a mild 1st degree burn - pain for several days but no permanent damage.
Agreed with bimjob.
Wrap a cold cloth soaked in ice water around your fingers for a while. That should also help reduce the pain.
Well is there any obvious signs that you burned your fingers ?
