Havent felt God

Well I work at my church cafe .my parents are both christian.so are all my sisters.my parents told me that the cafe needed help.so I waitress.well I havent ever really felt god or dont even no if I honestly believe in him.do you think its wrong for me to work at the cafe?

Answer #1

I don’t think, I know I have Salvation - you need to be sure about it - it’ll give you a servant’s heart and you’ll enjoy working there…I wish you the best !!

Answer #2

in my opinion, there is nothing at all wrong with helping. (And this is coming from an Atheist.) Volunteer work is a good thing. If you feel too uncomfortable to work in the cafe itself, maybe you can help out in the nursery: or even another, more secular agency.

Nothing wrong with helping your fellow humans. Good Luck!!

Answer #3

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your working at the church cafe. I believe with all my conviction that God understands perfectly where you are right now in your life. I hope you’ll stay open to the possibility that there is more to the universe than you perceive right now and that God is in love with you.

Answer #4

It’s not wrong. I’ll give you a rough example, it’s no different from a non-christian electrician/plumber/painter/etc hired to fix the church. They’re there to help, and it’s their job. It has nothing to do with their beliefs.

Answer #5

No, it’s not wrong. You are working there because you want to help, not to praise “God”. If you feel it is wrong then don’t work there. Just tell your parents that you are confused and aren’t sure how you feel.

Answer #6

No, it is not wrong to work there. It will probably help you on your quest. Don’t look for just feeling to be close to Jesus. You have to plug into God if you want to feel his presence in your life. How much time are you spending in prayer, reading his word, and listening on Sunday morning? When you plug an iron into the wall it takes a few seconds to warm up and as soon as you unplug it cools down. If you plug into the spiritual things of God you will feel his presence in your life. If you unplug from him you will feel separated from him. Just plug back in sincerely. He wants you to be a part of his kingdom.

Answer #7

Nothing wrong with helping other people trying to do good, just don’t feel guilty about not sharing their religious beliefs. You need to clarify your own thoughts on religion/Christianity. I am now an atheist but it took me many years to reach this point.I would suggest trying to read some of the work of Professor Richard Dawkins such as “The God Delusion”.It IS difficult to contradict people who have sincere (even if illogical and based on unsubstantiated myths)beliefs.Just because millions believe something does not mean it is true. They once believed the Earth was flat!

Answer #8

There’s nothing wrong with it.
