Why are needles better than guns for piercing?

why is it better to use a needle than a gun when getting a piercing? is there a lower chance of getting an infection or what?

well guns add a quick pressure and if on the cartillige WILL shatter it, and it takes longer for it to heal. Your body gets shocked wehre as a needle is a slower process. I think its more hygenic too. and steril. I peirced my own belly button, cartillige, ears, nose and labrett. They healed pretty quick, you do it slowly (more painful sometimes) but your not affecting surrounding areas. its like a paintball gun. what would hurt more - geting hit by one, or squishing a paintball without the gun.. :)

Piercing guns literally shoot the earring right into your flesh. Think about it, you’re forcing a metal rod through your body. Not smart.

Needles are much much sharper, and are hollow, and they remove a small piece of flesh so your earring can fit in.

Yup, Ear piercing guns are unsanitary and unsterile.

This is extremely dangerous because fluid micro-spray (microscopic particles of tissue, blood, and other fluids) will be present on the piercing gun.

Blood borne pathogens can be easily passed from person to person this way. Cleaning methods such as wiping with alcohol or bleach to are ineffective. The safest way to insure that no disease can be transmitted from person to person is sterilization. All piercing should be done with sterile single use needles, which are disposed of immediately after each use.

Hope that answers your question.
