I have completed my B.E. in Computer Science from Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Bangalore with an aggregate of 55 percent. In IT the demand of people skilled in particular field fades away with time as new technology comes every day. Like a few years before Java was a hot subject to study and start a career with. But now a days people say "go study SAP, there's lots of opportunities with very good salaries there". Some suggest to study .NET because not many people study this subject as a fresher. Some say go for Graphics Design, some say Oracle, some say web designing or learning html or php.... some suggest to learn PERL.. As a fresher I am very confused with which subject to start my career with. As what I start today, the experience will count on that particular field. So please suggest me which new field has just started booming in IT?
In my first few years of University, I studied a more general computer science course. My program allowed me to explore several languages as well as graphic design, 3D, and robotics. While the general field is related, they are quite different. Which field are you most interested in? Which ones have you studied already? Personallyu, I found that after learning one particular language, others came a bit easier as often they had similar concepts, even while the language was different. I suggest picking up a few introductory books on each field, find one that you are most interested in studying.
Regarding the main question you are asking, I too am quite interested. I've been told that while the IT field was "hot" few years back, now has been outsourced and is much harder to find a job in the field than it once was.
My first question is what do you want to study? I understood early in my CS education that my real passion was systems. My first few jobs were programming but when I had an opportunity to I made a lateral move to systems. Chances are whatever sub field interests you the most would be the best to study.
which subject i'm interested in doesn't concern me anymore as i've already laid so much of money on the completion of my bachelors..so..am trying to find the hot new fields in IT..nd join them immediately..
