Is there a flu that strikes suddenly and goes away extremely fast?

Last night my boyfriend was up throwing up for awhile then it stopped and he was fine, this morning i woke up and started throwing up but was then fine. Any ideas? wouldn’t be food poisoning we didn’t eat anything the same.

There are plenty of different 24 hour stomach viruses that come and go very fast. Food poisoning is horrendous and you would know if you had it, its much more than just throwing up.

He could have reacted to some food differently from you. Just because you didnt get sick doesnt mean it wasnt food poisoning.

But it could be the stomach flu. It doesnt last long. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, headache. Make sure lots of fluids to prevent dehydration, and you want to go to the doctor if he’s not better, dehydration can be serious.

I was throwing up this morning though, then was suddenlt fine. It literally lasted about 10 minutes for me if even and for him about an hour then he was perfectly fine.

Sounds like the stomach flu (of course I’m not a doctor). Plenty of liquids and give your stomach a break (nothing too spicy or whatever). Feel better!
