Female dog keeps humping

Why has my 2y/o female black lab all of the suddlenly begun to hump me while I hold my newborn? Is it jealosy, dominance, a smell?

Answer #1

DOMINANCE…dominance…dominance…it’s dominant body language…

She may be doing it to let the baby know her position in the “pack”.. (dogs don’t understand that babies don’t pay attention to their body language)… You may be getting “humped” simply because your body is there…but it’s directed towards the baby…

Also…may I ask if you’ve had any depression since the birth of your child. Dogs have almost a telepathic sense of “weakness” in their leaders… if this is the case, she may be testing you…so very sharply tell her NO…period (no matter “why”, it’s simply “NO…OFF!!!”
