how do I get male dog to stop trying to hump his male puppy?

Male dog is not fixed yet he will be 4yrs in Jan, female dog went into heat. He’s confused and trying to hump his male puppy. How do I stop him? I’ve already tried seperating them, bathing the puppy nothing has worked I’ve even went out and bought a spray to keep males away from females in heat. Please I need Help.

okay you should seperate them for at least a day if you want more puppies let both of the femal and the male notice each other

There are two kinds of humping…the kind a dog does that is sexual…and the kind a dog does to demonstrate dominance. You dog isn’t confused, he is posturing dominace…letting the puppy know that HE is the “in-charge” guy of this household. He will probably quit as the puppy grows.
