Why is my female dog and female cat trying to mate?

My female dog and female cat are trying to mate. My dog is always humping my cat and my cat seem to like it. The are both the same size so it not like she pined down.

Well is your female dog spayed? If not then you may want to get that done and cats are very tolerable animals it may think that what your dog is doing is being playful, also just make sure they aren’t playing sometimes play can be associated with humping, and are you sure your dog isn’t male, because female dogs dont usually hump, unless they are going into heat.

Well, Since there is no other animals in the house, and its just them, and they are getting along, it could be that the dog may be confused? Or just doesn’t care. (Thats cute haha!) I don’t know if its bad though to mate a dog and a cat. I don’t even think the cat could get pregnant. Call a vet and ask them what they think and if its bad they are doing that.

The dog is showing a dominant behavior (not all humping is sexual with dogs)…the cat is being VERY tolerant…there is no chance that they will mate.

She could be bored and wanting excitement,crazy,thinks she’s a male or establishing a social order.See an feline behaviour expert.
