What could cause me to go from extremely happy to depressed for basically no reason?

it seems to be happening a lot recently.

Answer #1

Mood swings. Maybe your mind is easily changed & it screws up your thoughts. Stress. I have the exact same thing, it’s annoying. :/

Answer #2

I feel just like this too, not sure why :s

Answer #3

its possible you could hae bi-polar, but you would need to be properly diagnosed. my boyfreind has bi-polar and can quickly go from being happy to depressed. otherwise it could be hormones or things in your life that are affecting your moodes. possible depression even

Answer #4

It could be your time of the month. But, I’m sure if it were that reason u wouldn’t be asking this question on here. :/

Answer #5

No its not my time of the month and even when i have it my mood doesnt change, and that would be a reason.

Answer #6

Today was fantastic i was extremely happy and hyper, almost bouncing off the walls. I didnt do anything different the entire time i was just talking to my boyfriend about normal things and i was hit with a wave a depression. =/

Answer #7

True! Go get checked out if you’re worried. Best way to know if it is bipolar or not is to do self evaluation. Notice when and why your moods change, even if you were just talking with your bf. Aspecially the when is important. Bipolar usually has a pattern, like 3 days high, 3 days down.

Answer #8

oh well in my case i think its hormones..damn those hormones>:(

Answer #9

I have seen some students having the same problem. parents often come to me talking about their kids fast changing mood. all I do is talking to the kids and most of them would say that they themselves got difficulty in knowing how they feel and why keep changing so fast. My suggestion would be SELF EMOTION CONTROL. It has to do with anger management. You have to know the real reason why you feel happy, so so, or sad. Together we work on lists of things that trigger us to be happy and sad. They explain their feeling at the moment and try to find the reason. It will not give result at once, need more and more practice on controling yourself and managing the rythm of your feeling.

Answer #10

Could be hormones, sudden blood sugar drop (did you eat sweets before your mood crashed?), bipolar disorder, or something external that triggers a cycle of negative thoughts. Look for a pattern of when it happens. And get a competent psychological diagnosis to find out if you’re bipolar - it’s treatable!
