Employers who are open-minded.

Which employers in Tampa, Florida - if any, are open-minded enough to hire people with facial peircings and hair dyed unnatural colors?

Answer #1

Well said, MandyLoo! :)

I’ve ran into people who are against piercings, tattoos, bright-colored hair, and etc. But I don’t care what people think of me or what I display to the world, as long as my fiance Kenneth is okay with it. Because in the end, in my view, it just comes down to him and I.

Also, in my view, our bodies are our own personal canvas, to decorate however we wish to. It’s our lifelong, every-changing, piece of art…

Tattoos and piercings are going to make the world fall apart? How so.

What a person decided to do with their body and how they express themselves - should be no concern to you. Yes, there are other ways to doing so, but to people like myself tattoos and piercings make you feel comfortable in your skin, it’s a creative way to express yourself, and it’s something that you enjoy. There is nothing wrong with either of them, it’s not your body so it should not concern you so much.

Answer #3

I agree with the answers mandyloo gave, I just wanna add something, the reason why most business owners don’t allow piercings and tattoos etc to be visible is because you get so many different people coming into your shop and it may offend some of the clients. I don’t think it is because they are particularly close minded.

Answer #4

Talk about a close-minded statement. It’s not ugly or ridiculous to express yourself in the way that makes you feel good and comfortbale in your own skin.

There are other ways one may express themselves physically. Moderate use of make-up, how and what they dress in(though moderation should once more be applied), removable tatoos(my mom used to do those a lot when I was younger, you couldn’t tell they were fake), the perfume you use, ect.

It’s lack of moderation in all things that is causing the collective of the world’s societies to fall apart. And without order, no progress can be made.

Answer #5

Certainly apply to all: It’s not that most employers are not ‘open-minded’, once hired, along with your attitude, professional demeanor, appearance gives an impression - whether initiallly or ongoing, You reflect the business in the consumers eyes - to the employer, the customer is of utmost importance…I wish you the best !!

“anything more than the acceptable pair of earings is ugly and slightly ridiculous.”

Answer #7

Well, frankly, most people won’t hire you. The reason is because anything more than the acceptable pair of earings is ugly and slightly ridiculous.

Now, I don’t mind vibrantly colored hair(not that I do it), but most people do. They think you’re trying to rebel against society and crap.

The main jobs you will not be able to get would be any corporate businesses (wal-mart, mcdonalds, places like that). Private owned businesses have their own rules and many of them are starting to come around when it comes to piercing and tattoos.

Bars, Strip Clubs, Tattoo/Piercing Parlors, etc. are always ok with them.

Answer #9

Well, I’m not speaking for Tampa itself, but I do live in Florida… Get a job either A) Working stock, as you remain in the back and don’t see customers, B) At a salon or barbershop, as they usually welcome style, C) At a piercing/tattoo parlor as a shop hand or desk receptionist, or D) Work at home like I do. Not only do I get to keep my piercings and cracked-out hair, but I can go to work in boxers and a Star Wars T-Shirt. Doesn’t get much better than that.
