I have recently dyed my hair dark red. I am using Herbal Esscences 'Ignite my fire' colour keeper. The dye is 'mahogany' shade 81 from nice n' easy Clairon. It went redder than I was expecting and even turned purple-ish at one stage. Does anyone have any good tips for make up styles with this hair ? Because I can't wear a nice subtle pink anymore, or how to make the colour last for longer? x Thanks
earth tone make-ups look nice with red hair.. it will "redden" up within a week or so though. I used to dye my hair mahogany, it always faded after a few washes.. i used to use Pantene for color treated hair when it went more red than purple.. it seemed to help quite a bit.
There is a shimmer lights shampoo that keeps red dye in for a longer period of time. They have them at Sally's beauty shop. Also using color friendly shampoo helps...It says on the label.
When you take a shower try to keep the water as cool as possible, this always helped perserve my hair color.
