Do you think life is created equal?

Yeah so do you think that life was created equal where if you had a sucky life when you were young you’d have an awesome life when your older or vice versa? Everyone keeps telling me this and I think its completely horrible to think. And also, how some people have better lives than others. Do you think that some people are lucky enough to have better lives than others, or would it even out over time so that everyone has an equally good life?

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!       I choose

I chose to be born, – to live or die, Even the sex, that would be I; I chose the race, from which to appear, Also my wealth, my health and my fear.

I chose my trials and stumbling blocks, And the legs I would use, in all of those walks; I chose my sadness, my joy and my love, I chose to serve and not be above.

I chose this life – with all of its dues, And with each dawn, again I choose; The experiences for me that wait ahead, To be alive, or be claimed dead.

And of the future lives I’ve yet, It is my choice that I begat; All the things, however pleasin’, That shall befall me in those seasons.

For me when I was younger I had it quite rough, now that I am older things seems to be smoothing out. people I knew in Elementary whom had it good are now riding down a bumpy road. So I’ld say it is true, but it depends on the person. Some people are spoiled in their youth & when forced on their own or figure out truth about something break down, but people who have it rough in their youth usually toughen & are more flexible, vulnerable. & as a friend of mine says, true strength is vulnerability. I’m denying that there are people who live in a bad place when they’re young & either commit suicide or never move on, but when you think of it those who commit suicide or wind up in mental institutions & such things usually have had the “perfect life” & “fell from grace”.

The playing fields of life usually even their selves out; for example the above. I don’t believe it really would be fair to “even things out” because people earn their money. They’re the ones that wanted to be a rockstar, country singer, model, etc/ people buy their stuff & they get paid. Though teachers really don’t make what they earn it wouldn’t be fare to dip into other ppls earnings & even it out.

Nothing in my nearly 60 years would lead me to think that life balances out like you describe, either for individuals or for all humans taken together. The ironic thing is that there are people who seem to have been born into circumstances where they have every advantage that life could offer - good health, a nurturing environment, even privilege and money - an yet are miserably unhappy. On the other hand, there are those born into situations where they apparently have nothing going for them and, yet, they not only survive, they thrive and are happy - leading productive lives that are blessings to everyone around them. I can’t pretend to know all the reasons why this is so, but I’ve seen it happen again and again. My daughter quoted to me from some literary source (Tolsoy, I think) something like, “Every happy family is happy for the same reasons. Every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” OR, in the words of an old song, “You can be happy, if you’ve a mind to.”

Answer #4

just because you have a bad life when you’re young doesn’t mean you’ll have a good life later on. Everyone chooses whether they want to make a good life for themselves are not. If someone always wants people to feel sorry for them and that everyone owes them something because they had a bad childhood nothing with get better

Answer #5

No, of course not. Everyone is born into different circumstances. People saying “everyone is equal” are usually trying to feel better about not doing anything about how unequal we are by invoking some vague, untestable ‘equality’ that everyone has (but does nobody any good).

Answer #6

its all about what you do and the decisions make. Thats the difference of a scientist and a hobo. one applied himself while the other was getting stoned. think about it.

Answer #7

LIFE ISN’T FAIR…some people in the world just have better stuff then others…and others just don’t have stuff that they want…I mean tats what I have always said..

Answer #8

well I don’t know. these are questions humans just can’t answer, but NO life is not fair. some people get blessed with money, good looks, other talents and others get abusive parents, raped, etc. and just because you are suffering when you’re younger doesn’t mean it will get better or vice versa.

Answer #9

I believe that we were created as equals - however we as human beings have this little thing called free will.

From there we tend to divide ourselves into social and economic classes. Is life fair? Well that depends if you ask an optimist or a pesimist…

I was raised that life is 80% how you take it and 20% what you make it - and to me. I’ve had my ups and downs, but I’ve learned from everything and I think life is fair so to speak. I may not be rich financially - But I have a great husband, two beautiful kids, a degree… and I try to find the silver lining in everything.

Answer #10

No, it doesn’t all equal out. Some people really do have great lives, other really do have horrific lives, and most in between have mediocre lives.
