Does it make a difference if you go to church to pray and ask for forgiveness of your sins or do it home?

Answer #1

Do it at church. The reason being is cause at home, he is there, but at church not only is God with you, but you’re also surrounded by many people that love you and they can help you further after your done praying.

Answer #2

what if it’s something personal and don’t care to discuss with others? Would it make a great deal on where I pray? Would I still be forgiven?

Answer #3

If it’s personal, I’m sure the church would understand, of course he will forgive you of your sins, I doubt he holds grudges on anyone.

Answer #4

I dont understand why being at church magically makes your closer to god. What about that structure makes it more important then your own home. No I personally dont think it makes ANY difference. The message is getting across at either location. As long as you genuinely are sorry it doesn’t matter where you are.

Answer #5

I know everyone is different, but for me, the message sinks in for me when I’m actually there.

Answer #6

But at home your surrounded by family that love you.. It doesn’t matter where you ask for forgiveness.. God doesn’t mind where you do it. What matters is you’re doing it.. I mean, what if you don’t make it to church before you have a chance to repent?

Answer #7

To be honest, God does not mind where, how and why you pray to Him. The Big Man upstair is happy that you are praying and conversing with Him…….Will, is right in a way, some people find it more peaceful to pray in a church, but not necessarily to be closer to God or have people loving around them…..The atmosphere inside the church can be very quiet and peaceful if there are hardly anyone there…..If you are one of these people who prefer to pray out loud, then a church setting wouldn’t be appropriate, if you do not want your fellow churchies hear all your naughty stuff……..When I was little I used pray beside the bed but now, I pray whenever I need to speak to God. Sometimes, if I’m really stressed at work or someone has upset, I go out during my lunch break and whilst walking, I pray to go through my mind not having to move my mouths…. no-one knows that I’m praying except The Lord and that works fine with me. :-)

Answer #8

It doesn’t make any difference, god is everywhere and we can pray wherever we want,he will listen to us no matter where we are, even if it’s home or a church. I am not saying that don’t go to the church, going to the church is good but I don’t agree with the fact that it matters or something is different if you don’t do it at church. All you need to have is faith,if you have faith so you can pray anywhere you want, this will not make any difference,I am sure god won’t mind.

Answer #9

well said..I have to agree…it’s not where or why…just the fact that you feel free to do so when ever you feel you need to!

Answer #10

Thanks for that Temptress. I really need to slow down and read my typing and fix my spelling errors and gramos before I hit submit. Sucks not being able to go back and edit stuff.

Answer #11

I so hear that…happens to me too doll…I really wish they had an edit button to correct my errors as well! Yet with that said I think we are all capable of understanding that as we type we are bound to make a few typos here & there…but we know what we really mean to say even if type “cna” instead of “can” & “teh” instead of “the” its normal, when trying to type what we think…I mean I know for me it’s dyslexia my brain thinks faster then it is capable of sending the message to to my fingers to type…which is why i rather use short hand typing in the first place. But its really no biggie…I think we all get the message behind it. It’s all good. :)

Jesus said some very inciteful things here. I am paraphrasing now; “dont be as the scribes, for they like to be seen by men” and “pray in secret, for the father who hears in secret will reward openly.” I am not trying to fathom God, but i do get a sense that God hears your prayers whethere your in a church or sitting in your clloset. It probably has more to do with how since you are when you pray.

The connection is on us not God. There is no seperation from God in reality. Only our own percieved seperation, because God is reality. So God is in the closet and the church. He is the closet and the church. This blows my mind, but it is true. Genisis says that before God, there was nothing, So everything there is is God. God does not recognize difference between a mountain or a molehill, because he is both the mountain and the molehill.
God's reality is based in another dimension. It is fourth dimensional. Maybe this is why Jesus said: "It is not in a temple, or on a mountain in Jeruslalem, ti is in your own mouth, that you should know it and do it." It is because Jesus was a doer. He prayed, but most of the time he was only praying for Gods will, and the knowledge of that, and Doing the work of the father. My religion is what I do. I cannot think myself into right living, but I can live myself into right thinking on a day to day basis. SOmeday's are way better that others. LOL. So ya, pray in your closet, with the door shut, it doesnt matter, it is what is in your heart at the time of prayer. God knows what you need before the words even come out, and nine times out od ten, what you think you need and what God knows you need are two different things, Because God see 's a bigger picture than you.
Answer #13

I does’nt matter were you do it as long as you do it. God will exept you prayer no matter where you are.

Answer #14

Nope. Heck, pray in the car or the gettho, or wherever you wnat.

Answer #15

your relationship with god is your own. no matter where u worship god is always listening. it all depends on how much u mean it in ur heart… not where ur at or who ur with.

Answer #16

It doesn’t matter where you are, You can pray to God anytime you need to talk to him. Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him, To all those who call upon him in trueness (Psalms 145:18) Just make sure that it comes from the heart, not just like whatever. Another important thing is to pray in jesus name (John 14:13,14) Lastly Don’t repeat the same prayer over and over, For example Jesus Christ left an Example in Matthew 6:9-13 for on HOW to pray not TO pray it to God over and over, because God won’t listen to those who repeat (Mattew 6:7). Talk to him like hes a friend and tell him how you feel and your problems.
