Confused moved out 18 year old

I moved out of my parents house, and I’m 18. My principal at my high school is saying that my parents have to sign an emancipation paper… But all of my friends are saying he’s full of it and that they dont have to sign anything because I’m 18… But I’m not sure and I dont know how to find out if he’s just doing this to tick me off. Help!!!

I never heard of no emancipation paper in high school or anywhere else I moved out of my ma’s house a few month’s ago I thought you were suppose to move out when your 18 anyway

see, that happened with one of my friends too. he turned 18, and moved out of his house and into his grandpa’s (which meant he had to switch schools). the principal at the school told him he had to live with his parents until he graduated, so go back home. but everywhere I’ve seen says 18= adult. nothing about if you’re still in high school or anything…

You’re 18. You dont need an emancipation paper. Your principal is full of it :)

if you’re 18 no one should be able to tell you what to do. I’d say your principal is a fat jerk :-)
