What's a better and cleaner TV: LCD HD, Plasma HD, or LED HD?

Answer #1

all i know HD stands for high definition what does the other stand for?

Answer #2

Plasma screens look prettier, but they can get glares on the screen very easily. LCD screens don’t get glares, which is awesome. I’m not sure about LED though.

Answer #3

This depends on A LOT of factors.

Picture quality: LED/Plasma

Simply put. LEDs and Plasma TVs offer amazing color, but plasma TVs have deeper and richer blacks than others. LCDs use CCFLs and crystals to display so color is not as good.

Size: Relative

Plasma come in 42-150 inches. LCD comes in 1-80 inches. LED is in the middle of them with 20-65 inches. If you need a small TV for a room or kitchen then LCD is your choice. If you need something huge, then LED and plasma is the better choice.

Cost: LCD

LCDs are way cheaper to make and buy. Plasmas come in second and LEDs are the wallet breaker.

Lifespan: LED

LEDs are very energy efficient so they can last you a few years. Plasmas last a while, but image burning is common so it can ruin the picture. LCDs break pixels as easily as your wet and oily fingers pressing against the screen.

Many other factors like viewing angles and brands are something to look at. I recommend going to a TV section of a store and looking for yourself.

Answer #4

Both can produce a great image. In the past the general rule was that Plasma looks best viewed in a darkened room because of their superior contrast ratio while LCDs looked better in lit rooms because of their superior brightness. Now both technologies have improved to the point where they both look great under any viewing environment. Plasma still has the advantage of inky blacks. LED video displays are a misnomer. These are LCD displays with the difference being that they use LEDs for illumination instead of cold cathode florescent lamps. Individual LEDs can be dimmed or turned off in the areas of the screen that are dark to improve the contrast ratio. The lifespan of plasma displays has improved to the point where this is no longer its Achilles’ heel. Energy use still is a problem with Plasma. Plasma displays use much more electricity than similar sized LCD displays. In fact, plasma displays use more electricity than older picture tube TVs. The energy issue is what caused me to drop plasma from consideration.

Answer #5

afaik LED TV’s are just LCD TV’s with a different backlight LCD HD TV’s are the cheapest and robust you can get while LED’s are good and thinner than LCD TV’s they are a waste of consumer money because the only thing different is it has a full row of light emitting diodes (LED) instead of flourescent lighting… save your cash for a new laptop or something and buy an LCD TV…
