What classes do you think high schools should require but don't?

And why.

Answer #1

Personal finances. Most young people do not know how to budget, deal with credit, save nor invest.

Answer #2

etiquette classes. for prom, formal events, and even just manners in general. My mom had it in her highschool and it was required junior year i think for one semester and they have a banquet at the end of the semester and it was really cool apparently(:

Answer #3

I know right? It’s like all these lenders are waiting for these kids to turn 18 so they can get them to apply for a credit card. Many young people would apply and get quickly approved for credit and max it out without realizing the consequences. Then the parents are stuck with the bills.

Answer #4

That’s part of home ec. here.

Answer #5

Is there a human decency course somewhere? Haha. Otherwise, I think gym. It never hurts to have students active, even if it is for an hour or so once a day. I’m not sure if gym is mandatory where you are but where I am you only have to take it once in highschool.

Answer #6

Yeah, some kind of gym is pretty much in every school already
