How much do cartilage piercings hurt?

I’ve got 2 lobe piercings and now I want one up further. And also, should I get one on both sides or one side?

Answer #1

Doesn’t hurt but a little and I wud do one in spot and on the other put a little higher

Answer #2

Only a bit, and I would say only one because I had it when people are even. But it’s your choice.

Answer #3

doesnt hurt at all its fast you cant even feel it.

Answer #4

one side looks better on a piercing higher up my bf used to work at a tattoo parlor that did piercings and he said it doesn’t really hurt but the higher you go the longer the healing process might be. Basically it won’t hurt but you will need to clean it obsessively

Answer #5

Not really, it feels like a regular ear lobe peircing and get both done, I got both of mine, it was cute.

Answer #6

Only get one! i think it looks weird with two. And it doesn’t hurt. only slightly more than a lobe piercing cause its cartilage but ye.

Answer #7

it’s fine, how obsessively? I cleaned my lobe piercings 2x a day until I was aloud to change earrings, then I used it again for a while when the back grew into my ear the first time.

Answer #8

Mine didn’t hurt at all. When I got them pierced I literally was like That didn’t hurt :o I don’t like it when girls pierce just one side, it looks stupid in my opinion. So I got both of mine done the same day. Just a warning though, the healing process is absolutely horrible. Well, it was for me. It hurt so much, I was about to take the earrings out lol. Mine still hurt occasionally and it’s been 1 1/2 years since I got them pierced.

Answer #9

i doesnt hurt too bad just a sting and it would look good on both ears the only sucky art about cartilages you cant take them out for 12 weeks.

Answer #10

not at all! just after care does when you like get dressed or something bumps or brushes against it. mine closed :/ but i plan on getting it repierced

Answer #11

Pretty much just like that, 2x a day but even when you are “healed up” things can still go wrong so you should still be cleaning it daily until you feel like it feels no different than your other piercings (comfortable, not tender or sore, etc) My moms got infected and she had cared for it like any other piercing, but because its cartilage you should give it a little extra attention.

Answer #12

thanks!

Answer #13

thanks!

Answer #14

thanks, I’ve decided to get it piercing on my left side since my hair covers my ear on my right all the time.

Answer #15

I’m getting one now, then I’ll probably get a hoop about midway up my other ear later, sound good?

Answer #16

it’s really the aftercare I’m worried about. my lobe piercings weren’t that bad but Scythe says cartilage aftercare is a bitch.

Answer #17

I generally leave new piercings in about a week longer than recommended before changing earrings because I have a titanium allergy and keep forgetting to check the type of metal…I’ll end up putting titanium earrings in at 12 weeks otherwise and completely screw myself over -_-

Answer #18

yeah, Scythe said aftercare’s a bitch. she never says her top 3 hurt though, and she got ‘em all at the same time way back when she was my age.

Answer #19

I’ve decided to get one on my left side up high and get a hoop midway up my ear later on, thanks for the input! ^_^

Answer #20

I was thinking more aftercare when I wrote the question ,I apologize for not being clearer -_- thanks for the input!

Answer #21

I’ve had plenty of piercings. Nape, septum, corset, cartilage, lobes, snake bites. And the most painful was the cartilage, it really depends on your pain tolerance. From 1-10, it was a 6.

oh, great…sweatdrop thanks for replying!
