How do you care for a navel piercing?

My cousin, who is 17 if you’re wondering, just got her navel pierced by one of her friends, who is 19, but she doesn’t know how to care for it.

Answer #1

Um… peroxide? Tell her not to be touching it unless she’s cleaning it, to reduce the risk of infection.

Answer #2

Yup, H2O2 and then triple ABX cream…

Answer #3

Just make sure she cleans it when they told her to clean it and just leave it alone for a while while the soreness and all that goes away.

Answer #4

Follow the instruction they gave you when you got it pierced. If their were no instructions i suggest you report them some way. Its very common but that doesn’t mean you cannot get seriously ill. I will always suggest Savlon for cleaning as Peroxide can be harsh and delays the healing process.

Answer #5

Clean it with peroxide, i used it with mine i have had mine about 1 or 2 years.

Answer #6

Do not use peroxide, it kills both good and bad germs fighting off infection! you can use dove soap, the cleaning solution you get when piercing ears, water mixed with salt in a bottle or buy something at a tatoo place, its not too expensive.

Answer #7

DO NOT PUT PEROXIDE!!! all you need is some non iodized salt and warm water, and also unsecented anitbacterial soap. dont use anything like alcohol its too drying and it gets rid of the good bacteria that helps it heal
