My Younger brother (ten and a half years my junior) is ALWAYS treated better than I am. By everyone! My parents, today, while I was watching tv for the first time this week, just switched the channel wihtout asking, and put a movie on for Izzy. My grandmother favours him (her only grandson) and even though she won't admit it, i know she loves him more than the rest of us. She is always 'Oooh Isaac this, Isaac that.' Even when Isaac isn't around she won't shut up about him. She took me out to the movies, and i was like, YAY quality time with grandma! I haven't had this since Isaac was born. It was all just to butter me up before telling me over lunch how horrible I am to my brother. Apparently, it is border-line child abuse to do your seat-belt up BEFORE saying hello to your brother. She went on and on about how he would never love me, and reduced me to tears. I love my brother, but I also hate him. I know I sound like a jealous five-year-old, but I am really sick and tired of everyone forgetting about me. I asked my mum for a hug coz i was REALLY depressed, friendship issues and what not, and she went, "Hmm." and then picked Isaac up and started talking to him. I HATE THEM! Any advice?
So, 10 years your junior would make him what...3? Of course they're going to give him more attention - he's the baby. Just be patient and try to be a good kid, and eventually things will turn around. The more they spoil him now, the more demanding he'll turn out to be, then you'll be the favoured child.
Maybe if you spend some quality time with Isaac, your parents will be pleased that you are a) being kind to him and b) helping them out and will hopefully end up talking/hugging you a bit more :> Good luck!
