belly piercing. need to convince the mother.

I’m a 13 year old, and have been wanting a belly piercing. Lots of people said it would look good on me, and I want one as well. I’m going to get it when I’m 14 though, which is next summer. But the problem is, my mum wont let me. How could I convince her?

Explain to her the truth about piercing. Let her know that they’re simply forms of body art and self expression. Guys AND girls can get ANY piercing they want to. They don’t make you any more or less attractive than you already are. There will be no problem for you getting a job either. Plenty of places hire people with piercings/tattoos whether they’re visible or not. They don’t make you look skanky/slutty or anything along those lines. They have nothing to do with your sexual orientation or what kind of person you are. As long as you have them done professionally and take care of them properly, they’ll turn out just fine and you won’t have any issues with them. Infection won’t be a problem unless you either don’t have it done professional or you don’t take care of it. If you’d ever decide you didn’t want it any more later on in life, simply take the jewelry out and never put it back in. The hole will close up over time and the scar won’t be noticeable. If she still makes a big deal over it, maybe try asking again in a few days/weeks. If she STILL keeps saying no about it, then wait until your 18 so you can have it done without her consent.

I dunno where you live but most piercing places that are legit won’t do a body piercing on you even with parental consent until you are 16.

a lot of parents think that when its pierecced you’ll be trying to show it off more, which in there miinds is OH MY GOD MY DAUGHTER IN A BELLY TOP make sure she knows that you only want it for when you wear your bathing suit, My mom also made me reasearch all the dangers before I got mine done, so mabye do that on your own and when you talk to her tell her that you reasearched everything, and your aware of the dangers, ( im sure she would alwayyys be impreessed if you told her some of the dangers. ( HINT: tell her the MINOR ones, like infections and paain )

I live In canada ontario, and I got mine done when I was 13 with my dads consent
