Any suggestions of what kind of dog to get?

It’s my boyfriends birthday next week, and he’s always wanted a dog, since we got our own place he’s been hinting a lot and I’ve kind of been ignoring them haha. But I have two cats, so if he wants a pet I’d feel mean not letting him, but I don’t know anything about dogs, I just know iwant one that won’t attack my cats, as there both really shy and timid, and one that isnt awfully big and will take me for a walk instead of the other way round. Any suggestions would be great, thanks :)

A real mans dog would be like an Akita. but if you want small a Rat terrier is fun and adorable My Akita weighed 100lbs but they have a smaller breed called a Shiba Inu an excellent breed also. good luck. and happy b-day to your boyfriend.

Just get a small dog, Jack Russel dogs are cute. Or a Chiuhaua(sp?) There small so they most likely won’t attack your cats. If they are a puppy you can teach them to be good with your cats as well. =) What ever kind of dog you get your man, he’ll be excited!

french bulldog! they’re somewhat related to the boston terrier, with around 15-30 lbs. they are really tough looking, which will be good for your boyfriend, but they love people. as long as their trained well, your cats will be safe. the only problem is that they’re a little bit hard to find, but it’s definitely worth it. they are the cutes puppies in the world. hope I helped!
