Any objection to the government coming into your home to control your thermostat ?

Answer #1

shakes head

Amblessed wouldn’t lie by omission… he’s christian, so he doesn’t sin any more…

Answer #2

ok “utopia” why are you hatin on obama. he has dont less damage to our county than any other stupid republican presidents.

you should tell me some of your ‘facts’ on what obama is doing so WRONG in our country because that would be some interesting news to me.

I pay attention to what hes doing, and nothing has been done bad yet, how bout you give him a chance to do some good without bashing him for what all of the republicans are saying.

Answer #3

I would have a problem if that were what was actually being contemplated. But that is not at all what is being considered, as has already been explained. I haven’t been here in a while, but I see amblessed is still up to his old tricks in asking loaded questions. Somethings never change.

Answer #4

OH MY GOD!!! THAT WOULD BE SO WRONG. THIS MUST BE REAL OR YOU WOULD NOT HAVE POSTED IT. IS OBAMA PLANNING ON COMING TO OUR HOMES TO REGULATE THE TEMPERATURE?

WOW, YOU ALWAYS KNOW THE INSIDE SCOOP ON WHAT IS HAPPENING AND ALL THE WRONG STUFF THAT OBAMA IS PLANNING ON DOING.

This is something being researched in California, and I might add, researched BEFORE Obama took office.

Answer #5

yup. If I’m cold, I’m turning the damn thing up.

Answer #6

What…are you talking about exactly? links? Supporting statements?

Answer #7

Damn rights I do…

Answer #8

Lol. samantha, I am an Obama supporter. Amblessed is not. My answer was sarcastic. I voted for Obama and think he is doing a good job. I feel that he is doing the best that he can with what Baby Bush left, a country falling apart.

Answer #9

We have our thermostat set at 58 in the winter and 75 in the summer, any colder or hotter than that then I will move to europe!

Answer #10

What’s being investigated is the idea of requiring new construction to include a thermostat that can be remotely adjusted during a power emergency to prevent blackouts.

The big government solution is to meddle with everyone’s thermostats. The libertarian solution is to allow rates to be dramatically higher during peak periods.

The higher rates would both reduce demand, and increase the profitability of providing during peak periods, which would spur greater generation infrastructure. Regulation/legislated monopoly are the cause of the problem. The proposed solution is of course even more of the same.

Answer #11

So..

with a republican governer…

…it’s the Republicans, yet again (eg, the patriot act, etc) that are trying to overextend th government’s reach…when really, my governer SHOULD be worried about firing teachers.

AND rellocating state funds, as the current allocation system is based on 1970’s data…get the facts. My neighborhood, as an example, is in the bottom 3% of county schools for funding, while revenue to the state derived from this neighborhood puts it in the top 10% in the county, as a result, the property taxes from here aren’t being put to use for this neighborhood nor are the income taxes, etc.

:) Makes me wish we had more Republicans in power, really, if Schwarzenegger wants to pay state workers less than the local in & out burger, but invent new ways to invade my privacy…wow, at least the Republican regime supports guns! Maybe I should buy one for when they come knocking?

Nah. I’ll settle for calling (again) my local representatives & giving them a piece of my mind (again).

If you want to read about it, here’s a link to the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/11/us/11control.html?_r=1

Just remember: the Republican governer is your friend…or is he really the Terminator, out to destroy us? :)
