my 5 week old son wont stop crying although it sounds like a scream and has a hard time going to the bathroom.I've used a thermometer but I dont want to have to keep doing that.I've switched his formula to sensitive because of the iron but it doesnt seem to be working.I've tried the warm baths but they only work for so long.I am a first time mom.does anyone have any advice on what I can do.thank you
!!!my daughter suffered from constipation since she was born and she is now one year old. I finally found something that worked!!! every morning I give her two pieces of rye toast with a little buttter. I take the crust off of it and rip it into small pieces. she loves it and it helps her. also every day I give her a 8 ounce bottle half water and half "graduates mixed fruit juice" these two things put into her diet have been working great. she doesnt sturggle anymore and goes normally finally!!!
Here's some tricks we used for Noah when he was constipated:
-Take his feet against the palms of your hands - have him push with his legs against your palms - this helps everything work it's way down and makes him push it out. -Caro Syrup (the dark one) - put a teaspoon into a 4 ounce bottle - it will help him go to the bathroom -1 teaspoon of prunce juice - in 3 ounces of water - it will help him go to the bathroom also.
I'm also a first time mom, and my fiance's sister had a baby before I did. for my baby shower she made me a "survival kit". In it was the Little Remidies Little Tummies. When ever my son is feel constipated or gasey, I just give him a little bit and do what ever soothes him best until it begins to work. Until it starts to work, just try to keep him calm. It will help him go.
a lot of babies are constipated when they are really young.. Consult with his doctor first... but they have baby supositories.. probably spelled that wrong... but my sister had to have them when she was born... and she also had collic.. but make sure you check with a doctor before you do anything! If nothing else, call a local hospital and ask them what to do.
If the baby cries constantly, it could be something more than just constipation.
You were given a lot of great tips for that issue, but colic is often the result of something else. Was your baby delivered by forceps by any chance? If so, he may need to have his neck re-aligned.
no he wasnt delievered byforceps.thank you all for your advice.I talked to my doctor and he said that it might be the formula so I switched it and it seems to be working a little bit.I also used the little tummies and that seems to work too.thank you for your help.
I agree with dusty girl. A lot of babies to struggle with constipation. Take your son to your doctor or pharmacist and ask them what they recommend.
