It shouldn't burn, those are two different systems, passages, holes etc, and one really shouldn't have anything to do with the other (unless you get an STD although I doubt the symptoms would appear that fast). Maybe your friend had a urinary tract infection...
It burns to pee if you have a urinary track infection.
