1.7-1.8 gpa. . .

in my freshman year I did “OK” ending the year with a straight 2.0. then in sophomore year I did pretty bad. (not even above 2.0) and then I just finished my junior year. I started off ok 2.0, 2.6, 2.7 and then I fell off again :(. So my Overall going into my senior year is around a 1.7 or 1.8. I am taking an AP course anyway because I could really use it. so my question is, is it possible for me to AT LEAST reach a 2.0? and I got a 20 on my ACT. So what kinda shape am I really in??

Arrrgh people like you, unsmilin. You give people like her false hope, not because you’re wrong, but because you’re right. But our educational system is so effed up that it just doesn’t work like that for everyone! It’s meant to keep lower class people lower and upper class people higher.

Fau, if you’re a self proclaimed genius like unsmilin, maybe that will work for you. See if you may be able to take the ACT again. I know some colleges only look at your first score, but others look at the most recent, and if that one is your highest then good. Many people will tell you that you can go to community college. I would agree. You can start doing really well there. keep up your gpa and stuff. go to class! I want to cry when I see people failing at community college. I had three tutors for every subject at a university. and I was making Ds. How can I expect people to do any better if they’re skipping class and not studying in community college? Study! I’m serious, don’t give up motivation. Just do it because you can. Community College can be totally easy for you, if you make it easy. The good thing is, you could get an associates and colleges will like that out of their transfer students. You can get a head start on some extra curricular activities and honors programs in community college. That will show responsibility and maybe some leadership. Universities like that too.

Anyway, a 1.7-1.8? Yes. I don’t know exactly how to calculate your gpa, but I think if you’re taking classes worth enough credits then it’s totally possible to get a 2.0 GPA. You have to keep at it, you know.

But unsmilin is right: do well in your end of year exams and go for something you’re good at. You will always find a way. Even if you just so happen to do the same thing unsmilin did.

It’s 11 lines away! How can you screw something like that up? I think I know why you have low GPA. As for an actual answer, I wouldn’t worry about. I never finished high school but was accepted at MIT easily. You don’t need a good grade. Just do well on you’re end of year exams and find something you’re really good at. From there it should be easy.
