How to tell my parents I'm bi?

im a bi girl I have been since I was 13 and I don’t know how to tell mi mom and dad

Answer #1

Here is an answer that I have given before, and I still think it’s the right one…

Why tell them at all, right now. After all, if you were not bi you wouldn’t bring up the subject of your sexuality. Unless there were a pressing problem - like abuse from classmates that found out, it’s better to wait until: 1.) you have moved out from your parents house, and 2.) you have a network of support from friends that do know, and 3.) you have had several years of knowing your preferences.

Most impulses to tell Mom and Dad something like this (when you are young) have more to do with trying to hurt them because you are mad or upset with them.

Besides, at 13 you have just begun to experience sexuality. You really haven’t had a chance to figure everything out. Don’t be in a rush. It will work out. Take care, and Good Luck!!

Answer #2

When you feel the most comfortable.

ignore what people said about you being young…you are who you are

Answer #3

I would tell them. This is a major part of your life that they need to know about! And if they don’t except it, well, it’s who you are and no one can change that! Not your parents, not your friends, anybody. Just tell them! God Bless :)!!

Answer #4

You are 13 - you are young and still discovering who you are. I wouldn’t say anything to your parents right now because as you get older you’ll start to learn more about your sexuality as you start to experiment. I think you’re too young to be completely sure, give yourself time. :)

Answer #5

I wouldn’t tell them just yet. a lot of young girls go through this, and end up not being bisexual. Every girl wonders what it’s like and most even experiment at some point in their lives before they learn what their true sexual orientation is.

Answer #6

I agree with Stephanie and mandyloo wait till you’re older and have some more experience before you tell them.
