What it be wrong if i bought a another dog for my parents for christmas , even though a month ago my other dog died?

Answer #1

It depends how hung up on it they were. Getting a new dog could help them to move on, but it could also feel like a massive slap. Maybe bring up the idea of a new dog at some point, just to test the water but don’t let on that you’re feeling it for christmas. Good luck :)

it all depends whether they are ready or not. some people can’t stand the thought of not having a dog around and get one anywhere from weeks to months after a pet’s death. others can’t stand the thought of “replacing” their “best friend” and wait a year or more. but i think it would give your parents a good sense of comfort (and i certainly don’t think it’d be “wrong” in any way!!) =]

Buying them a new dog is a sweet and caring thing to do, but you need to confirm with them that they truly want another and what breed they want. All dogs breeds are different, you need to research them to find what kind fits your family best. Christmas is not a good time to give pets as there is far to much other stuff going on. Its too hard to take care of a new dog. Better to give them a new dog after the holidays. You might be best to get them a gift certificate or make them one, to get them a dog after the holidays if they’d like one.

Answer #4

Is it because you want to make your perents feel better? Then no, It would not be wrong, because you are just traying to do something nice. But also know what your perents want so you don’t get them something you don’t want.
